I attended dental hygiene school at Sheridan College in Sheridan, Wyoming, and have been practicing since 2004. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Dental Hygiene the following year from the University if Wyoming. During my years as a hygienist I became more involved in identifying patients with sleep and breathing issues. This is what sparked my interest in Myofunctional Therapy. Not only did I want to help patients in being aware of these issues, I wanted to identify and treat the root cause.
In my free time I spend as much time as I can outdoors. My family loves camping, hiking, and exploring. Being from Wyoming, and now living in Colorado, I have a love of nature, and all the activities these wonderful states have to offer. Being able to be active and breathe well are so important to me. Teaching these skills has become a passion of mine.
Myofunctional Therapy is an exercise training program for the muscles around your face, mouth and tongue. These exercises are designed to improve issues with talking, eating, and breathing. Research has also found that myofunctional therapy may be an effective treatment for sleep-disordered breathing.
